Sharon,
You can leave the card in the unit. I would recommend that when you carry 
it that you carry it in the case for maximum protection.
Now if this were I, I'd use the side and a card adapter to be sure to 
protect the back of the unit. those cards gan get loose in there and that 
would worry me. I would be concerned about the pins breaking. But I'd say 
you can carry it safely this way. I just told you what I would do. Now you 
will have quite a few answers on thisone.
I really wonder what the Dean has to say about this? <smile>
