You and I have very similar BN circumstances.  I, too, have a PCMCIA storage
card and a CompactFlash card in my BN and the battery does go down rather
quickly when you do a lot of reading.  After about 2 hours my battery, after
being fully charged, goes down to around 77 percent.
You probably know this, but speech uses a lot more battery life than Braille
does.

Thanks Sarah I only asked as when I used it on battery it seemed to go down 
to eightysix per cent in about an hour or too of use. I just hope the water 
has not done any more damage than we thought. I do have a compact flash 
card and a storage card in the bn though. thanks anyway.
