Hi Penny,
You could certainly get the 5 gig drive for the BN, but the problem
comes when you want to transfer files. You'l have to connect the BN
via serial to your computer, or get a card reader. However, I hate to
say this, but I don't think the card reader would be recognized by
DOS. I'm not sure about this, so you may have to talk to the
techies. If DOS would recognize the BN as an additional drive via the
cerial port, you could transfer files that way, but they've got this
Activesync gumbus now that works in Windows and you can transfer files
that way. Penny, old friend, you've got to come into the 21st
century. If you can't deal with Windows, I certainly can understand.
But if that's the case, then go Linux! Go Linux and at *least* have a
modern system that will accommodate your BN. I thought I'd never
say this, but I am. You've got to be able to transfer files between
both machines. I'm not sure DOS will do this, although I could be
very wrong. If it does, then go for it, gal! Keep your DOS stuff.
If it doesn't, then get a new hard drive, stick it in the 'puter and
put Linux on it. Mount the old DOS drive and then commense
transferrin' stuff.
