One other thing to be certain about is the com port. If you have more
than one com (serial) port on your PC, they are assigned numbers, e.g.
com1, com2 etc. Jaws will need to know which serial port to work with.
Thanks.

Subject: [Braillenote] USING THE BRAILLE DISPLAY IN TERMINAL MODE

Hi, everyone,

I am attempting to use the braille display in terminal mode. Here is
what
I've done. I've selected the BrailleNote as my preferred Braille
display in
the jaws options. I'm using the latest version of Jaws, by the way. I
unloaded Jaws and then went in to the terminal mode on the BrailleNote.
Then I started Jaws again but to no avail. Oh, and one other thing I
did
was to go in to Active Sync and uncheck the box to allow the serial port
to
connect. What have I not done right. I don't do this often but my main
objective was to check to see whether or not a serial cable was working.
It
doesn't work with Active Sync but I know that Active Sync is volatile
and I
thought that maybe it would work using the braille terminal.

Thanks for any thoughts.

Karen
