No, it's a converter issue. Keyword simply doesn't have the ability to
convert certain Word 2002/2003 files to the format that it requires. This
was the crux of what I was trying to talk about the other day, but I
inadvertently sent out the wrong draft, instead fussing about tables.

Essentially what I really wanted to say was that I hadn't seen any reference
to conversion limitations in the Keysoft 6 readme or in the manual. If this
is indeed undocumented, new BN/VN/PK users who don't hang out on this list
where such things are discussed will discover this issue the hard way, and
that's unfortunate. So this should be clearly stated somewhere in the
documentation so that someone who needs to handle files coming from
coworkers, business associates, classmates et cetera have a heads-up on this
and can request that the documents in question be converted to Word 97 on
the PC side before they receive them.

In addition, the other point that I wanted to make was that I thought the
conversion issue was finally going to be put to rest when last year's
pre-release marketing material regarding 6.1 referenced transparent handling
of word files and support for Word 2002 and 2003, and therein lay the source
of my frustration and anger when I ran smack into the conversion issue after
installing 6.11. That was a real letdown for me. .
