Jane,
First you type a 9.
Then a computer Braille comma, dot 6.
Then the rest of the phone number.
For example:

9,9876543

Remember, just use dot 6 for the comma, no dot 4 or number sign is necessary.

Hope this Helps.

Sarah

Subject: [Braillenote] inserting pauses in a phone number

  Hi, all.
Wow! It's great to be able to use the BN again for e-mails! Anyhow ... sorry
for the digression.
I'll be going into the hospital this Sunday, and will be there for a few days
(having our first child and all that comes with it), and I want to set up a few
more directory entries so I can pull and send emails from there hopefully. How
do I insert a coma to act as a pause in the phone number? It would be 9 then
the comma, then the rest of the number. Do I use a dot four then dot six to
make the comma a computer braille one? Do I use a dot two and just stick it
between the numbers? Do I have to put a number sign after the comma and before
the rest of the number? Someone please show me with a fake number how it would
be done. You can email the list or email me privately at
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
  Thanks a lot <smile>!

  Jane
