maybe you will have to look for a used printer. Perhaps go to a flea market and buy one there.

A printer with a parallel port is what you are looking for, not one with
USB. Also, if I understand correctly, switching printer type just tells
the
Braille note what codes to send when text is italicized, bolded, etc.
Feel free to correct me if this isn't the case.
