Hi Carmen: Does your friend have dial up service or does she have anything right now? Because the new update isn't out, she would need an ethernet card from Pulsedata, which runs about $159.00. I don't know if the ethernet card at Best Buy would work or not. Earthlink doesn't have a really good service, unless you use dial up, because it doesn't work well with PPOE on DSL. It needs to be something with Static IP Connection, or HDCP, something like that. I don't know if I helped you or not. Regards, Rhonda Clark
