Hi Ann, That is exactly how it works. A serialized version will be shipped, hopefully ready some time this week. It's great that they allowed the trial to go out, given the excitement and anticipation over the release. The official version will have a few improvements over the 30 day version that some have now. >From all of the positive comments I've read on the GPS list, it really sounds well-worth the upgrade.
