You would need the capability of connecting your cell phone through either infra-red or through the serial port of the BrailleNote. I have COX and connect on the road via T-mobile on GPRS. It's about a $20.00 option with T-mobile, but it does let me connect without having dial-up service with my ISP. Basically, you connect with your cellular carrier's server and then through to your ISP mail servers. If you need help in checking this out, let me know.
