Hello Sue and all,

I don't yet have a wireless network here yet, but I can definitely tell you
that as a Comcast user, that Comcast does indeed use Pop3 email. The pop 3
server for comcast is mail.comcast.net and the smtp, for sending mail, is
smtp.comcast.net. Hope that helps,

Beth

Subject: [Braillenote] wireless and comcast

Good Morning,

I recently installed comcast high speed which is sent by a router to the
Braille Note and someday to the computer. They couldn't get my windows 98
to take the wireless card. In fact, they caused my computer to have
problems. It would start to boot up but then it shut off. That's another
story not for this list. However, we got the ambicom card and the Braille
Note to connect to the router. Internet is much faster for the most part.
It's also nice to sit in my chair and go online. The question I have is how
does the Braille Note connect with the comcast e-mail? To my knowledge
comcast doesn't have pop 3. Does the computer need to be on line to use
this feature? I'd like to hear from someone using comcast with the Braille
Note on how to configure the e-mail. I can download the mail via the
earthlink account just fine. Sometimes it downloads quickly while on other
occasions it's no faster than dial-up any ideas? Thanks.

Sue Mangis
