Hello Lindsay, I've experienced the same thing with my VoiceNote Running KeySoft 4.01.
It seems to just happen with huge email messages or very large files. At times my machine had rambled so fast, that I thought the poor thing was going to lock up, but that never happened, at least with that situation. I don't really have any solutions for you, I just thought I'd let you know, that its not just your machine that does this. I have not noticed the italics, but this doesn't mean that they're not there when this happens. If the email or whatever, causes my machine such grief, I usually read it once, and then I ditch it, as the voice can get really irritating when it goes into crazy mode. With newspaper articles, I have a feeling that the tables might be causing the machines to do this. I'll test this out and write to list, the next time I receive an article that drives my VN crazy.
