Sherry;
Good luck with your interview. What is it that you are looking for a job
in? I work in the secretarial field. they now call me a Grants clerk I am
a GS5.7 in the Federal government. When I started, in 1985, I started out
as a GS3.3, Schedule A, under the Higher the Handycapped. All I did was
just phones, when I started. After 19 years, I have proved to the
government that the blind can do a lot, lot more. Long ago, an employee, in
my office, tought me how to do windows. He became a great friend and gave
me away in my wedding.
When they needed someone for a large filing project, we put together a cover
sheet and used very large print and check marks to communicate with the
employees. We also brailled all the labels on the files.
I also escort, shred, resycle, care for some of the equipment on the floor,
xerox, help with supplies, keep a folder of who is out and a braille
notebook of imfo on each employee.
Hopefully some of this imfo will help some of you new job seakers out there.
Feal free to e-mail me if you mant.
Terry Powers
By the way, my sight is getting worse, so I am slowly converting to all
braille.
That is why I love my BT but I sure have a lot to learn. I will bring it to
convention.

Subject: [Braillenote] BN and live journal

Hi,

I'm going to be on the road again next week, flying out to northern
California for an important job interview. So I will be traveling with my
BN and using it for email and all the rest. i have recently started a live
journal at

www.livejournal.com

and i was wondering if anyone knows if that site works with the BN. I've
got version 5.1 still.

Thanks.

sherry
