Hi Todd,
I'm not Richard, but I can answer your questions.
Todd> 1. If we work with the GPS unit connected to the BN and
Todd> obtain desired information, will it work well in grade II
Todd> (either British or US Braille)? If not, will it work better
Todd> in computer Braille?
You can, as in all parts of the BN choose your preferred grade of
Braille. Yes, you can have grade 2 or 1 or computer Braille if you
want.
Todd> 2. As I prefer the Metric system, dos the GPS provide one
Todd> kilometres rather than miles?
Yes, it does.
Todd> 3. After obtaining desired information, could one save it
Todd> as a file after reading it for future reading?
Yes, indeed you can. This kind of file is called a route, and you can
save it. You can copy that route to somebody else's machine too, as
well as the points of interest files you create yourself. A POI, or
Point Of Interest is any place that is interesting or famous or good
to know about. There are Commercial POI's that you get with your BN.
They include restaurants, museums, hotels, gas stations, etc. Then
there are the files you can create yourself with your own POI's in
them, e.g. Mom's House, My bush, Turn in sidewalk, Commission for the
Blind building.
Todd> 4. When one arrives at a particular location, does it give
Todd> one its postal address?
Sometimes it does. Most places can be found by looking up their
addresses in the database. However, some places are not listed, so
you can get a latitude/longitude reading.
Hope this answers your questions.
