Well, Lisa, mine turned 2 on the 22nd of July and I put a lot of life things like credit card information and the like which, fortunately, I have backed up but it was so utterly magnificent when my IBM was giving me so many fits and one afternoon I was writing and it just plain stopped for no reason. I am really interested to see how well these new Braille Displays hold out. I actually depend on speech for my unit but use the Braille to check things. I also use the braille say if I were giving a credit card number over the phone or my dog's tatoo number or Window-eyes' serial number or the like. But I guess I wasn't kidding when I put a subject line of "there's an epidemic going around." Now I guess I'd have to say "there's a pandemic going around."

Mary Ellen,

You bring up an interesting question.

> I could be completely wrong about this, but it seems like those who
purchased a BrailleNote within the past 6 months to a year have had more
problems than those who have older units. My BrailleNote is almost 4 years
old and I have not had a single problem with it. I wonder if something
in the production process has changed over the last few years?
