Hello Paul,

Your assumption is correct regarding KeySync and this is expected behaviour. There is no problem with launching Outlook at the completion of the synching process.

Subject: [Braillenote] ActiveSync Clarification Needed Please

Hi Folks,

Wonder if someone with experience of Activesync 3.7 could explain something
to me please!

I have successfully set up a partnership with my PK over Ethernet using my
wireless access point, and have installed Keysync which came on the PK CD.
This has synchronized my PK with my Outlook contacts/calendar on my XP
desktop machine absolutely superbly. What is slightly confusing me, however,
is that once the synchronization completed, I have found that Keysync
remains visible in the system tray and Outlook still appears to be running
as a background process in XP. Should Keysync be keeping an instance of
Outlook.exe running in the process list at all times in order to maintain
the database synchronization? That would make perfect sense to me, but if
this is correct behaviour on the part of Keysync, I presume I'm ok to launch
Outlook say from my desktop so I can use it without causing the instance
running as a background process to conflict, screw up Keysync or anything
like that?

Paul.
