Greetings,
I need a bit of clarification. I understand I can only have 12
maps in a folder. Is it true that I can only have 12 POI files in a POI
folder also? If so, then I need to have 11 poi files plus my user poi
file. Given that some states (like New York) seem to have one map but
two POI files, that further limits me correct? Or can I just put all my
POIs in one POI folder.
John

Subject: RE: [Braillenote] Problem loading maps onto PCMCIA Microdrive
Hi John:
The GPS version 2 has a limit of no more than 12 map sets per folder and
one user file. I also use a 5 gigabyte drive and have the country
divided up into 5 sup folders. (Northeast, southeast, Midwest,
Northwest and southwest). I have an extra folder called other in which
I stored the stuff for Alaska, Hawaii, and some of the off shore stuff.
The only drawback is that as you move from region of the country to
region of the country, you have to change the folder in GPS options
for both map and POI. . This isn't so bad unless you are driving all
over the country for your vacation.
I can tell you, having 12 map sets loaded up, takes a while when you
first start GPS, but it's wonderful to have all that data at your
fingertips.
I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please contact me off or
on list if I can be of further assistance.
Sincerely
Jeff Molzow
