HI,
I have a PK. However I believe that the BN 5.1 has the capability
to connect to a PCMCIA, or CF network card. You would need to acquire one of
these cards. Then plug in the network cable that comes off of the cable
modem. I would recommend going to circuit city and picking up a cable/DSL
router with 802.11g in it. I would make sure that it has a hardware fire
wall in it. I believe that they all do though. I am using a Linksys wrt54g.
I believe that it was under 50.00 dollars. I would consider getting a
router for a couple reasons. The first is that the router puts a barrier
between you and the big bad internet. The router will give your internal
network computers a internal ip address, this is called NAT. Second the
router should have a hardware firewall that can be activated. This also
provides another measure of protection. Third most routers also have more
then one network port, usually up to five additional ports. Thus allowing
more simultaneous computer connections. This makes an instant home network.
Fourth if you get a router with built in wireless, then you can hook up
wired and wireless computers to the same router. Thus sharing the same
internet connection. I would make sure that you get a router that has
802.11G these routers are the most current, and are backward compatible with
802.11, 802.11B, and of cores 802.11G. Thus making sure that you can use
the wirless part with your BN when you get the 6.1 upgrade. I hope this is
not to long. I hope that you find it helpful.
