There are times I have forgotten where I put a particular file and I would like to be able to search for a file by typing a part of its name.

An excellent idea! I use the File Manager Menu a lot, so having a hotkey would help rather than going back to the Main Menu to get to it. Also, like others, being able to open a file from the File Manager Menu would be a great thing, too. I don't know how many times I've wished I could open a file when I found it, and couldn't. This was something relatively small which I felt was left out of the 5.0 and 5.1 upgrades. Since every other option from the main menu has such a shortcut, and the file manager is a vital and often used utility, why not create a shortcut for it and the utilities menu, using the standard backspace, enter and f and backspace, enter and u? Just logic I guess, and it eliminates a bit of cumbersomeness.
