Thanks Jonathan. I am really leaning toward getting this pk. I like what I'm hearing about it. If I get it set up, would you be willing to exchange emails with the assistive technology person at my local il center? Thanks again for your replies. I now have learned a little about kn gold. Did you or someone say that the speech actually has a small sample of human speech to give it some inflection? The only part of kn gold on the bn I find a little less inflected than I like is the exclamation! If that could be made to sound a little more, well, exclamation like, but for the rest, it's very clear and a lot more inflected than some. The other thing I will say is that I wish we could get it to read lines without pauses and only pause at appropriate punctuation spots. To show you why, I suggest that if you can get access to Nls, try reading a web braille book produced by Triformations. I could send you one volume as an attachment if you like, but to give you an idea, I could write the next sentence as you might see it in the book. Read this with speech and you will see how annoying it can get; here goes
This is just a sample of what I mean when I say it's annoying. Imagine reading a whole book like this.
