I think the battery in my BN is about to go on me! I charged it for at
least three hours and it showed the usual 99 percent once I disconnected
the AC adapter. As I was reading a file, I kept getting the "battery is
critical message". I used it for about ten to fifteen minutes or so, then
shut it off! I then turned it on some hours later, read for another five
minutes and it looked as if it went into sleep mode. I couldn't turn it on
or off! I of course continued to get the critical battery message. When I
checked the battery gage, it said it was accurate! When I plugged my unit
back in again after it shut down, the battery gage said zero percent, then
1 percent when I checked it again.
I thought I might try to let my unit limp along since the upgrade is almost
out I suppose! I then could get the new battery and upgrade at the same
time even if Humanware PDI replaced the battery and sent the flash card for
me to put in. If Humanware didn't replace my battery when I got the
hardware upgrade which I suspect they didn't, I have had the battery in my
unit since I bought it in 2001. That's a pretty good record for a
rechargeable battery! I'm charging it all night to see what will happen
but I doubt the battery will last for long! Does anybody have any
thoughts? The cell voltage is 1.34 volts.
