Hi all, <smiling> Yeh, this is definitely a "FUBAR" mess. My suggestion would be to do the following, but I might try it on the PC is your PC has a slot for the hard drive. It'd be easier to repair the mess on the PC.
If you don't have a PC with an appropriate place for the hard drive, here's what I suggest. Folder, e.g. appetizers, salads, entrees, etc. 2. If you know that you have several files that have similar names, e.g. chicken salad, tuna salad, caesar salad, use the file menu on the BN and move these files using the wild card commands. This will allow you to move all the *salad files at one time to the 'salad' directory. If you have a PC, this becomes even easier because you can select the files you want to move and just cut them to the clip board and move them all in one go. Good luck with your FUBAR mess. FUBAR? Well, it's originally a military term and means, um, Fouled Up Beyond All Recognition. You can replace the first word with something a mite stronger if you wish. In Unix/Linux circles it is used to designate a thing with no name, e.g. a test file, or a test object in a program. For example, if you are talking about creating a file to use for saving data a programmer might say, "OK, copy this data to FU." Or, "Create file FU or FUBAR for your data." So, since you're having trouble naming and organizing your files, you do indeed have a FUBAR mess. It's a definite SNAFU. (Situation Normal All Fouled Up) Ann P. 1. Parsons Portal Tutoring [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://home.eznet.net/~akp -----Original Message----- The very day my VOICENOTE arrived, I started saving and categorizing recipes in multiple convenient folders. The original problem was that I didn't like having recipe folders indiscriminately scattered all over my 5 gig hard drive. Last night, I unwisely created what I hoped would be a master folder named COOKBOOK and blithely copied hundreds of recipes into it. I now have a monster and unwieldy folder of totally disorganized recipes. I read the documentation on subfolders, and it was about as understandable as election campaign promises. BTW, who knows what "FUBAR" means? I'll be really interested in reading your answers, and I'll let you know tomorrow!
