Regarding Active Sync, you might try performing a reset on the BrailleNote.
With the power on, use a pointed object to press the resessed button on the
left side of the BN. You will hear a beep.

Wait a few seconds until the main menu appears. Then I recommend turning
off the power and then turning the power back on again. You will not lose
any files or information when you perform this type of reset.

Now try Active Sync again. This process solved a similar problem for me.

Good luck.

Rob

Subject: [Braillenote] Problems with ActiveSync and tips

I am trying to help a user with a BrailleNote. The first day we were able to
connect the BrailleNote via the serial port to the desktop computer (Windows
XP). Now we tried again and the BrailleNote gives the following error
"Communication error unable to connect.." after going to the Utilities menu
and then connect to active sync. We did check in the miscellaneous menu that
it is set to serial. Any ideas?

If a user wants to move the files from the BrailleNote to the PC, is there
an easy way to do this instead of going though exporting to MS Word File and
then finding the file though all the folders on the BrailleNote when you
have it connected via active sync? Is there a easy way to export to a MS
Word File to the synchronize folder on the BrailleNote so that the files
would automatically be synchronized each time?

Also they have mentioned when trying to open a file it says that it will
list the files but the list always seems to be blank. Any tips?

Thank you for your time.

Sheldon
