Hi. The problem is that files aren't deleted from the server until all of the email is downloaded. When I first tried this on Sunday morning, I was getting all kinds of errors; data allignment mismatch errors, exception errors and email drop busy errors. I decided to do a j k l reset and try again later. The first time I had only 171 messages when it kept hanging. After the reset and a couple of hours later, I had 272. It hung once or twice. I don't remember, but on the third try, it went all the way through to 272. This time, I had it set to delete messages from the server where before, I did not. It seems like a real hit and miss kind of thing unfortunately. It was nice to read through the 272 messages while nowhere near my computer and in a much more comfortable chair. If PDI can get this thing licked, all we need is streaming audio and this bn will be pretty nice<grin>.

It might still work if you can delete messages from your server that you already have in your BN.

Subject: [Braillenote] email question for Dean
Date: Sat, 05 Mar 2005 12:29:32 -0800

Hi, Dean. Changing the server didn't seem to work. Email still hangs. Today, I saw it start with the numbers scrolling very fast. At the end, email downloads were just crawling as if I were downloading at 14.4.
then, it just hung.
But I got to wondering. When is email deleted from the server? If it is deleted as each message is downloaded, it should be possible to connect again and start downloading from the message that hung until it completes or hangs again. If it hangs again, you could start again from the hang and continue.
I wonder if this would work?
Of course it wouldn't if email is deleted at the end of the download process.
