Hi Everyone, First let me explain how my email works. I have three entries in my old directory of services menu when I was running with Keysoft 5.1. 1. My first email account is through Earthlink. It is set up through an Ethernet connection. With this connection I receive my email through Earlthink BUT I send email and browse the Internet through my local ISP. So far everything appears to be okay with this connection since the upgrade process. I did have to reset the router but so far so good. I'm curious to see how long it lasts. My question is when I entered the connectivity settings for this configuration I found that the authentication was set to yes xthe DNS entries were entered. Before the ugrade authentication was set to no and the DNS entries were not entered. Also before the upgrade there was a setting about log onto network and this setting is gone now. Before the upgrade this setting was set to yes. I'm glad it works believe me just curious about the changes.
2. My second configuration is a dial-up connection. This configuration I use to access my Eblethlink email but through my mother's ISP when I'm in the States. I will be using this connection in a few days so I'm curious to see how well it works. When I look at the settings for this connection authentication is set to yes, the DNS entries are there, software compression and IP header are both set to yes, log onto network is present set to no which it should be but I don't recall this under the dialup settings from 5.1, and the wait for dial tone is set to no. Shouldn't the dial tone be set to yes? This is the same Earthlink account just a different ISP and a dial-up connection instead of an Ethernet card connection. I use the modem in the BN for this connection. 3. My third configuration allows me to send email when I use my mother's email account. So I send my emails through my Earthlink address but through my mother's ISP. For some reason under Keysoft 5.1 I was unable to send emails through the confíguration expained in number 2. The user name, the password everything is the same except I think in the one described in number 2 the smptp server is the earthlink one and in number 3 one the smtp is set to my mother's ISP. I'm sorry this is confusing. I don't know how to explain this better. Would it be possible with the 6.11 upgrade to eliminate one of these two configurations under my mother's dial-up connection enabling me to send and to receive emails through the same settings? I will be honest I have not read the new parts in the manual yet. I'm impressed with how well organized the manual is this time. I have a BT model. Thanks for your help and your time. Lisa
