Hey Sharon. Yep, deleting and clearing the attachments directory is definitely a good idea... It's one of the first places one should look if she is wondering where all her space on the flash disk has gone. :)
To delete attachments, do the following 1. From the main menu, press F to enter the file manager, followed by D to get to the derectory options. 2. If you are prompted for a foldername, press backspace to get to the list of drives, and select the Flash disk. 3. When prompted for a folder name, press space with T (cont. with T), to enter the directory mode. from here, type in "/keymail/attachments" without the quotes. the first "slash" mark represents the root directory of the Flash disk. 4. press space with x (read with x, though i'm not sure about that), so that all, including hidden files, in this directory are displayed. You are now free to use space with either dot 1 or 4, (up or down arrows), or the space bar to review the list of files in this derectory and delete the ones that do not belong there or are no longer needed. you can do this by pressing backspace with C (Cont. with X), at any selected file name. Remember not to delete files named "body*", where "*" is any number, because these messages contain the contents of email that is currently stored in keymail, and deleting them may resort in the loss of that email. Also, to any QT users, if these commands are incorrect, please correct me. As i've said, it's been a good long while since i've done any of this! <smile> HTH, Laura ----- Original Message ----- From: "sharon hamm" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Braillenote" <[email protected]>; "Braillenote List" <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, July 19, 2004 4:36 PM Subject: [Braillenote] deleting attachments > Hello list: I had an email saved at one time that told how to delete attachments.
