Hi Melissa, I'm sorry you've clearly had some degree of frustration over this one. It's a very interesting point you make, and we're dealing with a matter of user interface as you say, rather than any bug or defect. And indeed, what you describe is consistant throughout KeySoft. I suppose the way I look at this is that when you press the ENTER key, you are telling KeySoft that you are satisfied with your data and it should consider this info ready for adding once you do a save. I don't know if this is a problem for anyone else, but it is really bothering me. When I entered a phone number into the address list I hurredly pressed E with the spacebar and said yes to the "add this record?" prompt. I forgot that I should have pressed enter before then to go on to the next field in the database. I went back a few minutes later to return the call only to find that my number was not there. We don't have caller ID on campus and I only know this person's first name, so there is no way I can find the phone number at this point. I also know that I can't retrieve the number on my BN since it wasn't saved even though I said "yes" to the prompt to add the record. I'm just wondering if anyone has ever had this problem, and why do we have to press enter before saving? Obviously the BN won't retain the last field we've typed if we don't press enter, but why?It may be a technical thing, but i would still like to know why we should be bothered with this extra keystroke when we're in a hurry. Thanks for listening.
