David,

You don't need activesync to connect your braillenote to the internet. You do,
however, need a network card. It fits into the rear slot of the bn and then
you also need a network cable to run from the network card to a port on your
router.

If all goes well, you should be able to connect to the internet with no
problem. You also need to set up an entry in your directory of services for
establishing
the connection, but that's probably best handled in a separate message.

Actually, activesync has nothing at all to do with the internet, it's just one
way for the braillenote and pc to communicate with each other for the purpose
of
transferring data between the two.

I'm using my braillenote to connect to the internet at times, and I have a
netgear router with 4 ports and the system works quite well.

Feel free to write me privately if you think I may be able to help further.

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if all you want to do is connect to the internet, do you need
to use Active Sync? If not how is this achieved? I'm trying to connect my
BN directly to my Netgear router without having the BN connected to my
actual desktop computer. In other words, I want the BN to act just like
another computer off the router. Is this possible?

Thanks in advance,

Why did they make that strap out of such rough material? That stuff can
scratch your skin when wearing a collarless shirt.
