Just to clarify a bit here. Earthlink, along with other providers, require authentication for those sending outgoing mail, especially those accessing an earthlink account from outside the actual earthlink network such as you would be doing if you log into your email from a gprs network.
This does not impact the receiving of email from their pop3 servers. To make this work, you need to use an authentication server. So, you have to change the standard earthlink smtp server for example, the standard smtp server for earthlink is smtp.earthlink.net and if you are in a situation where you need to use authentication, you would change the server to smtpauth.earthlink.net and, in the case of the braillenote, set the authentication option in the directory of services to yes. Other providers also do this, and ssome require it even if you are sending directly from within their own network. In all the cases I've tested, the authentication support provided by the braillenote work just fine. However, this is a possibility when it comes time to enhance the email client. I'll log it in the database when I go back to the office tomorrow to ensure this suggestion is not forgotten and always there for review by the Development team. Hopefully ,jona?an or someone else f pdi can answer this. Does the braille note product line support pop3 servers that require authintication? I don't even know what this is, but my isp is going 6start using it. > Thanks, > Stacey > ___ > To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit > http://list.pulsedata.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.pulsedata.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote
