Brian, Although you cannot do this with one command, you can search for the same text string in as many files as you like, provided that you search within one application, like key word. Just in the normal manner, type the find command and your search string and if you do not find it in the first file, just open the further document where you want to search for the same string, go to the top and press the repeat find command, on a bt it's chord n, [or if you like, space pressed together with n]. The last string you searched for in that application, will remain valid, until you press reset, or specifically enter a new search string. It seems that keyword and keymail remembers one and the same string, but keybook remembers, so to speak, its own.

I blew the last message. Is there away to search for a specific text string across all files? for instance, you write someone's name and phone number in a file and you can't remember which of your umteen files you wrote it in, and you are disorganized anyway! So, you search for the person's name across all files or at least across all the files in a particular folder. Brian --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
