Although I have not yet had an opportunity to use 6.1, I would suggest that there issues which would always have to be considered. I would imagine that even with the improvements in email processing that are promised in 6.1, receiving 1000 messages would be a huge load for a Braillenote. A PDA of any kind is not a PC, there is no way it will ever duplicate the robustness of a PC nor will it provide all of the features of a PC. It has been stated by Humanware that Keyweb will be more like Internet Explorer 6 and this should resolve some of the issues people are currently experiencing with 5.1 now. One thing that you will not be able to do is to create a Hotmail account with the Braillenote. This is because, when you create such an account, you are asked to type a string of characters into a box. These characters are graphical in nature, and accordingly, Window-Eyes or Jaws or Keyweb cannot read them. You have an alternative, and that is that there is a link one can click that will cause a sound file to be played that will give you the character string. I doubt if the Braillenote could handle this issue. Were I to be using my Braillenote for email, I would most likely not wish to receive more than 100 messages at any one time. Remember, all of the database issues that exist in 5.1 will still exist in 6.1.

What kind of interface is Keyweb using? Another words, is the browser capable of doing the same things as Internet Explorer 6? 2. I belong to 6 lists so I can receive as much as 1,000 messages in my inbox. How well does 6.1 handle this kind of load? 3. Has anyone used a web-based email service with 6.1? 4. When documents are translated into MS Word, are they recognized on a PC as Word documents or as rtf documents? 5. Does 6.1 have the capability of being used as a terminal program? So far, I'm a little worried about some of the problems with Keymail and Keyweb people have been reporting. If I buy 6.1, I want to be sure it will take up some of the responsibilities for email and browsing the web I have been doing with my PC. I have had so much trouble with my Windows PC and I would like to be able to use my BN more and my PC less. Terri Pannett, Amateur Radio call sign KF6CA.
