Hi, Terri. I figured it out. I had read the sectoin, but didn't realize
that the dollar p will still show up unless you set in the braille display
menu to not show.
I will probably eventually set things up this way. I did see how editing
mode even showed the dollar l and other format markers. I was surprised
that you can't remove a dollar l. It will just show up again once you move
away from it. I guess that must have something to do with page width
settings or margin settings.

is in reading mode. The option must be set using the options menu. If you
are in editing or layout mode, the line endings will appear as dollar p or
dollar l.
To fully understand what I'm trying to say, read sections 3.12, 3.12.1,
3.12.2, 3.12.3, 3.12.4 and 5.4.2. The best way to read these sections is to
use the manual in the Keysoft system disk and read them either using Keyword
or Keybook.
