Hi Tom
I don't quite understand what you are saying but I have had to upload or is
it download my telephone book into the Braille note twice. Suddenly as i am
working in that file only the first line appears and nothing else. i did
not go into the file manager, but fortunately, I had backed it up on the
computer and could download it to my flash card which i just bought from
Humanware.

Subject: [Braillenote] Zap Revisited, or is it?
Hi all,
Not long after upgrading to KS 6.11, I mentioned that there were still
problems with files being zapped, where their contents appeared to be
gone.
Yesterday I encountered something similar, at least in effect. I was
working on a large Word file, one that was initially created in the BN
before I upgraded, and modified periodically either with the BN or with my
home PC running MS Word 2000. I went into this file with Keyword yesterday
and made several changes, then decided to save it under a different name,
so
I did an s-chord and entered the new filename. The file appeared to save
successfully, so I exited. On re-entering the file later in the day, I
found that I couldn't move past the first line. I exited again and went
into the file manager to have a look and found that the file was still in
fact close to 300k in size. I then tried opening the file again this
morning
using Word 2000 and still found that I can't move past the first line.
It's
as if a premature EOF (end-of-file) character has effectively walled off
the
remainder of the file, rendering it useless. BTW, the original file has
this same problem, too. I've seen this problem before in earlier versions
of
Keysoft and Keyword, so I don't know if the file was predisposed toward
this
type of problem, having been created while I was using KS 5.1 build 22.
Whatever the case, I wanted to bring this to the attention of folks who
may
be more knowledgeable about such things than I am, in hopes that I can get
some suggestions on how to fix this. If necessary, I can rebuild the file.
It's a newsletter that I distribute to friends and colleagues, containing
a
collection of various articles gathered from different sources, so I just
piece it together, add some other stuff and I'm done. But I'd rather not
have to rebuild the thing if I can avoid it. Got any suggestions?
Tom
