I just got my Braillenote and have zillions of questions but this is
something that i am trying to figure out.
I have copied below the steps that are on the pulse data sight and will add
my comments where necessary.
I have supposedly transferred a document through activesync to my braillenote.
O.K. this is what happens
I have the file on a floppy disk and when I open it up in word I get the
message
Microsoft word can not import the specified format . The feature is not
currently installed. Would you like to install it now? yes or no. I press
no and it opens up in word 2000.
So here is what happens.
How Do I Open a Microsoft Word File and Read it in the KeyWord Processor?
To perform this task, do the following:
1 From the KeyWord menu, select the "Open a Document" prompt. Select the
drive, folder, and file you wish to open either by browsing a given folder
or by entering the name of the document directly.
I did this and it worked fine.
2 If you open a file that is not a KeyWord Braille file, for instance a
Microsoft Word file with a .doc extension, you will receive the prompt
"review the options?" Press dots 1-3-4-5 for "NO" or press dots 1-3-4-5-6
for "YES."
3 If you choose "no" the document will open as a text document with the
preferred text Braille reading grade being used.
I get the error message that this is not a recognized microsoft word document
If you select "yes", you will be asked if you would like to "translate into
Braille?" This will translate a Word document "on the fly" into KeyWord
Braille. Press "ENTER" after making your selection.
It does ask me this and no is written so I write yes. Then I push enter and
it says end of list.
And that is that. ugh!

4 You will then be prompted to "Use line or paragraph format" when opening
the document. Paragraph format is best for prose or continuous text, while
line format is best for poetry, lists, bullet points etc. To select the
"Paragraph" option, press dots 1-2-3-4 (P), or to select the "Line" option
press dots 1-2-3 (L). When you have made your selection, press ENTER. 5 To
Exit this menu and begin reading the document, press SPACE with dots 1-5 (E).
