Hi Charles and Sharon. No hardware lasts forever, there would be few of us
I think using the same PC we had in 1997. The trouble is that these devices
cost a lot more than that, which is why we did a board upgrade a couple of
years ago. We could have just issued all new BrailleNotes with the new
board, given the product a new name, and tried to maximise revenue but we
don't play the game that way. So to answer your question, there may come a
time when the current hardware you have will not accommodate software
updates and where another board upgrade might be necessary. I am talking in
the hypothetical right now. But there are no plans in the product road map
to discontinue the BrailleNote you have and replace it with anything else.
Hope this helps.

Jonathan,
Besides having our Braille Note, we have a Braille Lite 2000 which we
purchased in November, 1997. Apparently, the Lite can no longer be
updated. Now, our question, do you foresee the same thing happening with
the BN, using up memory capacity to where it can no longer be updated?
Thanks in advance.
