I didn't mean turn the program off, just turn *speech* off.  Difference
there.  Sorry about that.  You use insert+control+s to do that and arrow to
no speech.  Then when you want JaAWS to talk again, you hit insert+control+s
and then arrow to eloquence or whatever you speech synthesizer is.
