Hi Evelyn and list,
I have been doing a great deal with BNS to M20 files myself in my BN
lately. It isn't such a daunting task as one might expect. If you have a
super disk drive, it is easy to take those files from disk and copy them
into your BN. If you have a card reader and you are copying files onto the
card in your computer from floppy disks, then you will need to know how to
use the card. Your flash card may go into your BN in one of two ways. You
can get a type two PCMCIA to flash card adapter which will fit in the right
hand PCMCIA slot in your BN. Your BN will consider this as a storage card
as it will the super disk drive. You can also place your card in the back
of the BN in the flash card slot. The BN will consider this flash card or
simply flash I think. You select the storage card or flash cards when
selecting drives by hitting f for flash, s for storage card. Once there,
you should be able to access all files on your card. One word of caution
though! The BN may not recognize all of your files if they don't have some
kind of extention on them. I have found when I use the "file manager", I
can see all the files on the card usually. If I locate a file I need when
using the file manager, I select the option to rename the file by hitting
R. I'll be asked for the filename. I can go into the list of files till I
find it or I press the first letter of the file I want and usually the BN
takes me right there. If I'm on the file I want, I press enter. The BN
asks me for the new name. I then write the same name with a .brf
extention added. The BN then asks whether I wish to change the
extention? I say Y for yes and press enter. You will then be able to
locate this file with your word processor or book reader. If you go into
one of your BNS type files and it looks funny, simply rename the file and
add a .brf extention to it. The file will then read properly in braille
again! If you had extentions on most of the filenames, the BN should
recognize those extentions. If the file is really an important one, I go
to the end of the file, press two carriage returns which will give me a
message that the file has been modified, save as a Keyword document? I
often do this so I don't hear anything about reviewing options when opening
the old file. All of this is up to you of course but I have changed any
number of my old BNs file types to keyword documents.

Hi, All,
I would appreciate some directions for transfering some Braille Lite 40
files to my Braille Note. Also, since I am still reading the manual, I
want to know how to access a Compact Flash card, at this point to find out
what is on the card. Thanks.
