Jane, One thing you might try is to unload jfw, start your bn in terminal mode and then start jfw again.
If you don't start bn in terminal mode before jfw is loaded (and also for the case of window eyes), jfw or window eyes won't load the drivers correctly. This might save you having to completely reboot your machine. There may be other factors which would cause this not to work, but generally just unloading and then starting the screen reader again without a total reboot will get the bn going as it should. I only have one gripe--that is that I have to start up the computer with the BrailleNote in terminal mode to get it to work right/. Oh wlel .. I can't have eveyrthing I want. :) Thanks again. Once I know I have it working right, I'll post a list of steps on how to fix it using JAWS--that is, if folks are agreeable <smile>.
