I also had this problem when I tried to connect the BN to my cable modem,
and Doug is quite right about the need to register the MAC address.  I would
have had to pay a higher monthly subscription to use more than one MAC
address at a time, so I bought a router, and this solved the problem.  I
have a Netgear wireless router with four ethernet ports and a built-in
wireless access point, so I'll be ready to use the BN on my wireless network
when the upgrade comes out.
