Mary Ellen, There would be very little reason to buy a socket modem for the Braillenote. A socket modem is, just what it sounds like it is, a modem! The Braillenote already has a built-in modem. That's why, despite the fact that folks keep referring to this as a socket modem, they mean a socket Ethernet card, just like the one you have. Let's put it this way, I'd bet large sums of someone's money on it! (smile)
