Lynn, the card reader is a little device that plugs into the USB port on
your pc; then the compact flash storage card goes in the card reader.
It's sort of like a disk drive for the card reader. When the card reader
is plugged into the PC, it shows up as a drive in Windows Explorer--mine
calls it drive E, removable disk. You can then move files around to and
from the card in the normal Windows fashion.

My card reader came from www.memorysuppliers.com and cost about $15.

What does the card reader do and do you purchase them at regular
electronic stores.

Also, do your wireless cards go inside the card reader or does it go
into the slot where the flash disk drive goes?

A compact flash card can be the little card that goes in the back, or,
you can purchase a little PCMCIA card in which the compact flash can be
put. This particular one does not have a wire. A card reader, on the
other hand does. The card reader can go in a pc, or your BN. Hope this
makes a little bit of sense.
