Hi to everyone,

thank you for all the advice on this. I don't have to do this right now,
but next time, I will try all of these. I'm glad to know there is a way.
Thanks for all the responses.

Hi Keao,

I'm a little confused by your e-mail, so I'll go through the steps of
downloading a book from there. You go to the site, log on, click on "Online
Catalog", and do your search. Then, when you've found a book you wish to
download, you click on its link. With Web Braille, each volume of the book
is a separate file, and you will see the link to each volume as a URL. The
URL will contain the Web Braille site, the number of the book, and an
indicator of the volume number. For example, the URL for Volume 1 of a book
whose number is BR 12345 will say: www.loc.gov/nls/braille/br12345v1.brf,
something like that. You click on the link, and the book will download.
You will see the URL to confirm that you are now at the location of the BRF
file. When you advance your Braille display past the Web address, you may
or may not see the contents of the book displayed, but regardless, press
[SPACE with S], [CONTROL with S]. Choose a location for the file, and when
typing in its name, use Computer Braille if you have a BT. Make sure you
type in a .brf extension when typing in the file name, and if using a BT,
use dots 4-6 for the period with US Computer Braille or dots 2-5-6 for UK
Computer Braille. The UK Computer Braille symbol is the same as the
Literary Braille symbol, but if you have US set, use dots 4-6 (to check your
Computer Braille table, press [SPACE with O], [FUNCTION with O] for the
Options Menu, then B for the Braille Display Options; press SPACE, and the
ninth item or thereabouts will be the "Computer Braille Table?" option; if
it's USA or Custom USA, you're using US Computer Braille, and if UK, it's
the UK table; to change it, press [SPACE with dots 3-4], [CONTROL with
SPACE] to cycle through the choices, press ENTER to accept, and exit). When
you've typed in the name with the correct extension, press ENTER to save it.
Now, when you open the book in KeyWord or KeyBook, you'll see the book's
contents with no Web address.

HTH,
Maria
