Hello Steve,

Yes, the disappearing dictionary was, and I guess still is, an issue with the KeySoft 5.0 ROM build. Therefore, no flash disk upgrade will be able to resolve this problem.

However, you said that you will upgrade to 6.1 when it is released so this should get rid of the dictionary issue for you.

Hi, it was very early in the morning when I wrote that email, about 3am I think and maybe my brain was half asleep because normally I remember to five all the information.

Firstly, I already have Keysoft 5.1 and will be upgrading to 6.1 via my SMA when it is released. Anyway I thank you for your advice.

I'm using a Braillenote BT.

I received info from a Mr Jackson who advised me to delete the backup I'd made (and this was the first backup I'd had problems with as I backup fairly often) re/et my braillenote and backup again. This resolved the problem.

The problem that still annoys me is when I completely run down the battery, recharge it and then have to re-install the spell checker, which, although I know how to do, once I'd done this the first time, I didn't expect to have to do it again. As I say this happens every time I completely run down the battery. Just so that zou know what I do to the spell checker when I have recharged after a complete discharge, I go to run programme, go into the windows part of the system disk, run uk_bnb.exe with command line /s and then copy the UK spelling dictionary from Keysoft directory to my flash disk. I then do a reset. I have tried doing this with all three resets and still get the same problem when I have completely discharged and then recharged the battery. I hope Pulsedata can sort this out.

Cheers, Steve

Steve,
I'm sure that many people here would like to help. I think you can help them help you by telling them what you're running on your Braille note. Have you backed up files before with no problems in an earlier version? What my thinking is, is that if you upgraded, there may be a new command or perhaps a bug in the software. In addition, I think that when we ask questions, we have to remember to say what kind of keyboard we're using.

Subject: [Braillenote] error message when backing up files

Hi folks

I tried to backup my files today and there was the following error message: ". . . error copying file keylist.cdb file used by another process" or something like that. Whilst I was able to retry, this didn't work. I was able to finish the backup but am worried that keylist.cdb has not been backed up. I know there are 205 records in this database. Is that too many?
Anyone any ideas how I should proceed?

Thanks for any help.

Cheers, Steve
