Tina, Are you sure that the phone you want to get does not have an ir port? If it does, you wouldn't have to bother with cables at all.
Also, $80 really sounds high for a cable, but guess it's the old supply and demand thing. And yes, $600 is a lot of money and certainly more than I'd ever want to pay for a phone which may only be marginally accessible. I love my bn very much and am not happy at all when it has to be away, but I do e-mail a lot and am very glad to have a desktop here at home so i can still do my internet/e-mail stuff even if i cant do it on the bus or at work or everywhere else i go like i like to. Oh, I did ask ahbout Sprints data cards, but they are as much as another phone and they thought the card wants to launch it's own program to run on your laptop like having annother plan really so, i think i'll stick with the cable route.
