Hello, Roger,
Well said indeed. You know that it is the squeaking wheel that gets the
most attention, I think that is what lies at the root of the problem. It is
too bad that you and the vast majority of the users were not as vocal right
from the beginning, all this unpleasantness might have been avoided. On the
other hand, of course, where there is smoke, there is bound to be some fire.
So, why are these people complaining? Did they all make horrible mistakes
in doing their upgrades? I am afraid that they are going to continue to
complain until their problems are solved. Since PDI is working very hard to
correct the imaginary errors in 6.1, that is not helping credability one
bit. What kind of ideas do you have about that?
Still in the dark

Subject: [Braillenote] keysoft 6.1 is outstanding, fantastic job Pulse
Data!

Hi Folks,
I have been watching the list over the pass few weeks and I am very
disappointed that a few people have blown way out of proportion the Keysoft
6.1 upgrade.
These few have exaggerated way out of what is reality and caused others to
conclude that their statements are true, not from fact, but from outrageous
untrue statements.
I am a dealer and a user of these products and also many other products made
from other venders, and I was delivered 42 upgrades to my office to either
ship to my customers or personally deliver to them and assisted in
installing the keysoft 6.1.
I have personally not had any problems with email in normal use, nor have
any of my customers stated to me that they were having any problems with
email.
In fact, I have had nothing but praise for Keysoft 6.1 and they love the
faster processing of programs, internet, and email and over all performance
on their BrailleNotes or voicenotes.
I am amazed that such a major double upgrade and installing a new operating
system, windows CE 4.2 has gone so flawlessly. I have personally done 14
upgrades on voicenotes and BrailleNotes, from keysoft 4.01 and 3.07 and
everything has gone smoothly, just like the instructions state they should.
To make statements that this Keysoft 6.1 is a major failure or has many bugs
and shouldn't been released, is total rubbish!
I speak from experience in using it and installing it.
I have also installed GPS 3.1 on many units too, and it works very good and
faster than it did on keysoft 5.1, about 20% to 30% faster in creating
routes and entering in the program or loading maps.
The wireless connectivity is awesome!!
I personally had talked to Jonathan and Dominic by phone last week, and
stated in my opinion and experience installing Keysoft 6.1 to continue the
shipping of them, but I can understand their views too, that a small handful
of people had put out this totally false impression that Keysoft was full of
bugs and people should wait until they get it fixed to keysoft 6.11, before
shipping. That is too bad, because of the total package of Keysoft 6.1.; it
is worth installing and using now!
At least most of my customers have had their keysoft 6.1 delivered to them
or shipped to them and can enjoy the great new features in keysoft 6.1 and
love the wireless option to connect at home or on the go to surf the web or
check their email.
So you few people, you know who you are, just shut up and let the large
majority of customers have their Keysoft 6.1 and quit making trouble where
there isn't any!
Pulse Data, Maurice, Jonathan, Dean, and the rest of the development team
have done an enormous job, and should be patted on the back for a job well
done!
They have delivered one hell of a powerful upgrade, packed with new features
benefits, and improvements, so let us thank them and not criticize or
ridicule them!
