Hi. Perhaps I might give a hand here. I hope so as I have done this. I assume you have shared folders on your network drive. When getting the bn to link to your network, you need to enter your computer's name; not your work group name. I have seen this in device settings. I am sure you can find it in other places. For example, my computer name is Paul as when I installed xp, and it asked what my computer's name was, that is what I entered. Where it says server name, enter your computer's name whatever it is. You don't need to enter a password or log on name if you don't want to. It isn't necessary unless you think that someone else will get ahold of your bn. If you need further help, let me know and I will take a look at where else you can find your computer's name.

Hello Dean
Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I have simplified the computer names, and am still getting not found. I have tried with the firewall off, but wonder if it could be something to do with the authentication settings? I also remember from the dim and distant past that the full name of a computer as seen on the network is not just the one-word name but may have a different syntax - a network path if you will containing something else? Am IO wrong here, or can you give me any ideas? For example, the computer I run my radio station is now just called Radio, my own workstation is called Dennis, etc. etc. and the workgroup name is FREEDMAN. I have also tried upper and lower case as I'm not sure whether the computer name for the network place is case sensitive.
Apologies if I'm missing something here.
Thanks again.

Hi Dennis,

While it is true that Microsoft do not allow the browsing of work groups in
Windows CE 4.2, you can still access the files residing on the computers
connected to your network. At the network server prompt, you need to type
the exact network name of your PC instead of pressing space to bring up the
domain prompt, used for logging on to a domain server.

If you have any further queries, please don't hesitate to contact me.
