Hi Don, I'm on vacation this week but as of last week, I had not received the 6.1 upgrade. Am I correct in stating that if I haven't received it yet, I won't until 6.11 is released? I'm looking forward to not only the enhancements in 6.1, but also the GPS upgrade. Thanks. I was out of town for a day and a half, and came back to about 450 messages. I'll probably do most e-mail via the PC, it's designed to handle large e-mail downloads. But I do look forward to browsing the net with the BN. Do you know if one can access secure sites such as banking sites? I have an account with Bank of America, and would love to wirelessly access their site. I'll have to purchase another wireless card, but it's a small price to pay to have wireless connectivity which is a real treat! Best Regards,

Roger, that was a great post. I've been trying to put together something similar, but there's no need to simply echo what you have already stated so well. I would like to expand on a couple of things though from my own perspective and experience. Since installing keysoft 6.1 I find I am using my braillenote more than I ever have, and I have had my braillenote for well over 4 years. I got mine shortly after they became available and a qt wasn't even heard of. 6.1 has caused me to start using on a regular basis features of the braillenote I had only used lightly in the past. I now use the browser quite a lot and even do email on the braillenote. The wireless connectivity and the improved performance of the browser have really encouraged this. There are problems with email, but I personally don't encounter them unless I download large numbers of messages at one time, that is, over 70 to 100. If you do get a lot of email on a daily basis, the braillenote may not be your best option as a primary email client. But, for smaller amounts of mail it works very well. So well in fact that I've started doing some email on the bn from the comfort of a recliner chair and sometimes out on the patio. All this, thanks to the wireless connectivity. The same holds true for reading our local newspaper which has an online addition. I just never did much of this with ks5.1 and before. There's something about not being tethered to a computer that really does enhance the pleasure of it all. Browser controls on the bn work slightly differently than one may be accustomed to on the pc, but that's no fault of PDI, it's just the nature of things. Once you learn to use them, it really does work well. Additionally, I've finally been motivated to get my address list together and in order in the bn so I can more easily do email and other things. I just never seemed to get around to it before 6.1. And with this increased usage, I find I'm also using the planner and word processor more than I used to as well. I moved from keysoft 5.1 to 6.1 and haven't looked back since. There are problems with email for a few people and PDI is clearly working on these. In most cases you can get around them now if you just manage the way you handle email. If you tend to get lots of mail, try downloading a bit more frequently to keep the volume down. The folks at PDI have done and are still doing a really fine job with their product and this latest upgrade is certainly an example of that. The fixes in 6.1.1 will be out soon, but in the meantime those of you who are holding off on the upgrade are really missing the use of a fine product.
