I have 5.0. I did try reinstalling, but that did not fix the problem. I
have 5.1 and was considering installing that to see if it fixed the problem
but I didn't want to compound anything and wanted to see if this could be
fixed before trying that.

Which version of KeySoft are you running? If it's 5.1, I had a similar
problem with KeyMail and fixed it by reinstalling KeySoft. Try reinstalling
it either way, and see what happens.

Subject: [Braillenote] Houston, we have a problem

Hi all,

it seems that my poor BN has suffered its own version of a melt down. While
on my recent trip for a job interview, I downloaded over 300 emails. After
reading and sorting a few into other folders, I marked the rest to be
deleted. this was late at night, and I started the deleting process after
going to bed. I woke up an hour later, to find the braille display still
reading please wait. I did an E chord to get out of there, intending to go
back and see how many it had deleted. however, when I went back into the
email menu, things went crazy. i tried to read from the inbox without
checking for new mail. I had turned speech on at this point. the braille
note made the little sound it does if you hit a wrong key and displayed, the
operation was completed successfully. It then went back to the keymail menu.
i tried again with the same results. I tried to get out of there and do a
reset. It asked me if I wanted to send two messages that had actually
already been sent earlier. I know these messages were sent, because I
received an answer to one of them last night when I got home and checked
email on the PC.

So, I went back to read email and tried checking the outbox. I got the same
message, the operation was completed successfully. I tried reading from
other folders with the same results. I tried emptying the trash that
supposedly had 16 emails in it. same message. That is the only message I
get from keymail.

So, I thought that perhaps, those 328 messages had overloaded something,
taken up too much room in the memory or something. A few weeks ago, when I
thought I'd lost the manual, it turned out that there was a bunch of old
mail. When I deleted it all and freed database space, the manual came back.
I moved every single document from my flash memory to my compact flash card.
I have nothing on the braille note now except the empty folders and anything
that was there originally. Hoping this would have freed some space, I went
back to try to figure out the email issue but got the same results.

And now, whether I use the word processor to try to read a document on the
CFC or the book reader to read a book on the CFC, braille note displays the
message, no more items, instead of showing me the well over 100 files tat
are on the card.

I have been everywhere in the manual I can think of to try to find answers
to how to fix this. I can't find anything. I have done multiple resets of
every variety. I even tried to look around system files to see if there was
something that should be cleared or emptied or deleted, but I couldn't find
anything that made sense to me and didn't want to do something that could
cause more problems.

Is my braille note toast now?

Sherry
