Hi Folks, An issue has been identified with the transfer of client's existing (pre KS6.1) dial-up connection details during the KS6.1 Upgrade process.
The following notes provide a solution to the issue. They are divided into 2 sections "Summary of known dial-up issues following KS6.1 upgrade" and "Detailed Instructions". Summary of Known Dial-up Issues following KS6.1 Upgrade Issue No. 1: Unable to access Web Page and Receive Email. The symptoms are: When making an Internet connection: the error "can not find server" occurs. When downloading email: the message "Error connecting to Pop Server Error 10022" occurs. Both of these errors can be fixed by removing the following 2 entries from client's "Connection Configuration" that they are using for the dial-up connection. Primary DNS Address 0.0..0.0 Secondary DNS Address 0.0.0.0 Issue No. 2: Directory of Email Accounts not correctly transferred. This does not stop the reception of email but requires the User to press Enter twice more than necessary during the email connection process. All entries are not being correctly transferred to the "Email Account" and the result of this is that on a dial-up connection the User will be asked to press Enter to confirm their Name and Email Address each time they connect. You may be able to fix this by editing the existing "Email Account" record, but if this isn't successful you will need to delete the existing record and recreate a new record. Please note that before editing or deleting the existing Email Account you should make sure that you know all your ISP details such as; User name. Password. Your Name. Your email Address. Pop Server. SMTP Server. SMTP Authentication required. Detailed Instructions Removal of DNS Settings Go to "Options Menu". Go to "Connectivity". Go to "Review an Existing Configuration". Press Enter at the prompt "Connection Configuration to Lookup?" If there is more than one Connection Configuration, use Space with dots 5-6 (Read with 9) to select the Connection Configuration that the User is wishing to use. Press Space repeatedly until you view the line "Primary DNS Address 0.0.0.0". Press Backspace with dots 1-4 (Control with K) to open the list for editing. Press Backspace with dots 1-4 (Control with K) to clear the Primary DNS setting. Press Space to move onto the line "Secondary DNS Address 0.0.0.0". Press Backspace with dots 1-4 (Control with K) to clear the Secondary DNS setting. Press Space with E (Escape) to exit the list and press Y to confirm the changes. Return to Main Menu. Editing the Email Account Caution: You must know your Password and pop3/smtp details before proceeding. We suggest you try editing the existing Email Account to add in the missing fields. If this is unsuccessful you will need to delete the existing Email Account and re-enter the details. Instructions for deleting and re-establishment of the Email account are provided later in this advice. Go to "Email Menu". Go to "Set-up Options". Go to "Directory of Email Accounts".
