I wish it were that simple, and I will admit, that was my first thought.
Unfortunately, this isn't the case, g and h work, but the upper and lower rows
don't work at all. This is true even in the main menu. I reset the unit to
it's factory default and it still doesn't work right. Oh well, back to PDI it
goes, for the sixth time! (GROWL)

If it is the home keys that work, it sounds like it is in the braille mode
where you use a qt keyboard like a bt keyboard. See if you can use home
keys as if they were braille keys. If so let us know. someone will be able
to help you out. I bet it is in the chapter you got with the machine or I
would not know about it. I have a BT.

Hi All,

I have a qt and accidentally got into one-handed mode a day after I got it.
Hold down the semicolon while switching on the unit, and it should go away.
That didn't work for me, and I had to erase the keysoft.ksd file. I wonder
if that would work in this case? I'd ask tech support before I did that
though.

The QT doesn't have a one-handed mode, mainly because it is assumed that
most people will be using a QT keyboard with two hands. At least, I've
never seen one in the manual. Here's the quandary, I can't get to the
options menu from anywhere except for the main menu, and this is done by
arrowing down to the option and pressing enter. When I go into the option
for Braille entry and keyboard type, it only says "Qwerty keystrokes here"
and puts me back in the main menu. When I am in a Keyword document and
press Control with g, it says qwerty keystrokes are already enabled.
Nothing happens when I press either q or c, for computer Braille. Also,
Braille input doesn't work from anywhere except from within a document. I
can't use Braille input in either the main menu or the options menu.
Any other suggestions are more than welcome. I am willing to try anything
at this point!

Terri:

To get out of the one handed mode, at least on the BT, hold down enter while
turning on. Holding backspace when turning on will put you into one handed
mode. However, I am not sure the QT has that option, maybe somebody else is
better equipped to answer that.
